Salam,there are multiple hadiths that forbid singing the adhan. Thereis one hadith that encourages on to recite the adhan in a beautiful voice. The Adhan in Makkah sounds to me like singing. I asked two Azhar Sheykhs and they both said that the adhan in Makkahis makrooh because it is like singing. I asked Sheikh Ahmed Kutty on this website and he said that the Adhan in Makkah was ok because it is justusing a beautiful voice. Pleaseclarify the issue for me. Assalamu Alaikum.  As we know, the Quran is the direct speech of Allah (SWT) to humankind.  This is very obvious when many verses refer to Allah (SWT) from the first-person (i.e., "I"/"We" etc).  However, there are also many verses where Allah (SWT) is referred to in the third-person (e.g., "He"/"Allah").  Why is this?  Is it still Allah speaking?  Or is it angel Gabriel speaking (of course, being inspired by Allah(SWT)?).  I hope you can clarify this question.  Thank you & Assalamu Alaikumnote: I am not saying nor do I believe that Quran is from Gabriel.  I just want to know why third-person is used in some of the verses instead of first-person.

Dear Scholars, My question is regarding the issue of smoking shisha. My son believes it to be halal as he is under the impression that it is not harmful as smoking is. I married my husband six years ago. We dont have kids because I am unable to conceive a child. Doctors told me I am permanently infertile and medicines are useless. My husband is ok and he wants to have kid. About two months ago he married another woman. My husband is a very kind man.even after his second marriage his attitude towards me is good. My husband's second wife isalso a nice lady. She is very kind to me. We live in a very small house with one bedroom with attached toilet. The kitchen is located outside the house so nobody can sleep there because it is not safe to stay outside at night. Similarly nobody can sleep in toilet. All we have is the bedroom which the three of us share. My husband is a poor man , neither he can buy anew house nor he can afford the rent. we have arranged for a seperate bed. So now for onenight my husband sleeps with me on double bed while the other wife sleeps on the seperate bed and the other night she sleeps with husband while I sleep on the seperate bed. Me andthe other wife daily switch places. We dont have any problem with that because It is the only possible solution. We donot ask for seperate house because both of us know that our husband can not afford it. Our husband has promised us to provide seperate homes whenever he hasenough money. Now my question is that it is ok for my husband to have sex with one wife while other wife is watching ? I know that it is not ok to look at other woman's awrah ( fromnavel to the knees ) but if my husband covers himself and the wife with a sheet of cloth whilehaving sex ? I know that it is unlawful to disclose the marriage secrets to other but there is a difference between ordinary public and wives. I know what he does to other wifeand she knows what he does to me.  Under the circumstances this is the only possible solution for us. Can we both have sex with our husband simultaneously if we both wear such clothes which conceal our bodies from navel to knees but allows our husband to have sex with us? In this way we shall not be able to see each other's awrah.

Usually, people recite whole surahs, but I have been in situations where the imam recites part of the quran and not the whole surah, I have even seen a person recite ayatul kursi and then go into ruku. Can you please explain what aspects of faith does it cover and what sorts of cleanliness, physical and spiritual, does it mean ?2) which twelve leaders does the following hadith from Bukhari refers to Volume 009, Book 089, Hadith Number 329.narated By Jabir bin Samura : I heard the Prophet saying, "There will be twelve Muslim rulers (who will rule all the Islamic world)." He then said a sentence which I did not hear. My father said, "All of them (those rulers) will be from Quraish."3) What are our duties towards the members of the Holy Prophet pbuh's family as we are told to observe them in the following hadith from Muslim Book 031, Hadith Number 5920. "...I am leaving among you two weighty things: the one being the Book of Allah...The second are the members of my household I remind you (of your duties) to the members of my family..."4) I was of the opinion that all children who pass away before reaching the age of puberty will go to heaven. However, the following hadith from Muslim gives a different impression. Please explain. Book 033, Hadith Number 6436. 'Aisha, the mother of the believers, said that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) was called to lead the funeral prayer of a child of the Ansar. I said: Allah's Messenger, there is happiness for this child who is a bird from the birds of Paradise for it committed no sin nor has he reached the age when one can commit sin. He said: 'Aisha, per adventure, it may be otherwise, because God created for Paradise those who are fit for it while they were yet in their father's loins and created for Hell those who are to go to Hell. He created them for Hell while they were yet in their father's loins.5) what is meant by "everyone is facilitated in that for which he has been created" in the following hadith from Muslim Book 033, Hadith Number 6400. 'Ali reported that one day Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) was sitting with a wood in his hand and he was scratching the ground. He raised his head and said: There is not one amongst you who has not been allotted his seat in Paradise or Hell. They said: Allah's Messenger, then, why should we perform good deeds, why not depend upon our destiny? Thereupon he said: No, do perform good deeds, for everyone is facilitated in that for which he has been created; then he recited this verse: "Then, who gives to the needy and guards against evil and accepts the excellent (the truth of Islam and the path of righteousness it prescribes), We shall make easy for him the easy end..." (xcii. 5-10).6) Muslims are asked not to cross boundaries in supplications and cleanliness. What are those boundaries ? 7) If I have a fever and someone asks me 'how are you?', then how am I supposed to answer him. Some one told me that if someone enquires about my health I am supposed to tell him my real health conditions. And I know that in all circumstances I have to thank God for whatever I have in whatever condition I am in. And will intercession take place only on the day of judgement or it can also take place in the grave? Now the question is this: We know that incest is forbidden in Islam, but what about the children who are born of such a relationship? I am a working sister and I have to make wudu during the day while at work.  My problem is that I do not feel safe/secure removing my hijab in the restroom because the door is constantly opening and men typically walk past the restroom or stand in the hallway outside the bathroom (the men's room is next door to the ladies room) and may be allowed to see in the bathroom.  Is it permissible for me to make wudu over my hijab in that case, if not, what accommodation could I make to get around my problem?

My case involves a Muslim woman who separated from her husband some time ago and sought refuge and alternative accommodation.due to domestic violence. Her separated husband had sought her out and demanded sex with her; on her refusal he would force her to have sex with him. I understand that If she had no valid excuse then she was sinful in denying him sexually but is the husband sinful for forcing her to have intercourse? If he is not sinful, would it be sinful  for him if forcing her caused her pain. She hasn?t made complaints to the police stating that she is still married to him; and there is no rape in Islam.  What is this woman?s rights given she has separated from her husband and does not wish to have sexual relations with him, is she in a position to make a complaint against him to the Police under the pretence that he is raping her?

Assalamu alaikum I just wanted to find out if someone is in the middle of prayer and they made a mistake or forgot to read 1 ayah what do they do. Can they still carry on, is the prayer still accepted or do they have to break that prayer and start again?

If somebody is facing any health or other kinds of problem we say ya salaamo or ayate karima certain number of times. If somebody is shifted in a new house they invite other people to read and finish a quran for Allah?s blessings. Now my question is that is it according to Islamic teachings. I read in a book that our prophet (SAW) didn?t use to follow this practice whenever somebody died in his era. He use to pray for that persons forgiveness but not to read quran and some surahs. Is this bidah. And if I was invited to someone?s house for this should I go or simply make an excuse.My second question is that my husband is working for a conventional bank. We read the fatwas on your site and he too was with me. He is taking care and avoiding as much as possible not to involve himself with the interest based transactions. Allah has been kind to us and my husband has now been promoted to a seat where he is basically doing people management. Now my heart keeps on troubling me that what if he involves himself with interest based transactions. Our riziq becomes impure and so our prayers and istighfar won?t be accepted. This thought also troubles me as there is a difference of opinion between the scholars on working in a conventional bank. I want to perform hajj but then again I get worried that what if our earnings are not from a desirable source. Allah says that he guides the ones who seek guidance. Now what if the opinions of the scholars who say that working for a conventional bank is not permissible is my guidance and I am taking an easy way out. I do try to ask my husband when he tells me about any transactions that involve him that are they interest based or not. Sometimes I get worried that he might start getting upset with my continuous asking. Now what should I do? What should be my role as a wife? What should I do w ith my trouble thoughts? Please help me out.One more thing which I want to ask you is that my daughter is 7 years old. Now to teach her the prayers what I am doing is that whenever I am praying I ask her to join me. My question is in regards to writing a copy of the noble Quran, i wish to handwrite the Quran as a gift to give to a muslim family that was very generous to me when i first converted. Are there any du'a or advice you are able to give me?

I am a Junior Doctor at a Hospital in the UK. and as such, I have to prescribe the usual medicines for the patients on the ward, moreover, and not very occasionally, I get asked to prescribe Alcoholic drinks for patient, especially for elderly patients who are used to take it every night for example. and some times at special occasions e.g. Christmass. I have managed to so far to avoid presrcibing such drinks by asking my colleages to do so. But I know that oen time I wont be able to ask a colleage for one reason or the other. So I wonder what's the Fiqh's stance on this issue, and what is the best course of action for me.thanks and may Allah bless you all.

Salam, If a man is having erection after sexual arousal and little amount (may be two drops) of transparent viscous liquid comes out then is Ghusl(bath) compulsory on him? This liquid do not even leave stain on clothes if dried. It is also not an ejaculation as well.Do we need to wash clothes as well because there are no stains at all.Thanks

 Salamu Alikum, I 'm a disabled man and I 'm not able to work. I need some complicated surgeries that goverment medical insurance doesn't pay for it. I also want to go back to school and get some degree that may help me  get a job in the future.I have never played the lottery before. I 'm wondering if I tried it for few times for small amount of money, Would that be Haram? I 'm hoping to be able to pay for my medical and educational needs if I won.

Any help would be awesome, thanks.1) Sunan Abu-Dawud, Book 38, Number 4435: Why does the Prophet (s.a.w.) use the law of the Torah to punish the Jewish pair if the Torah is believed to be corrupt?2) Sahih al-Bukhari, Book 59, Number 369:how can the Prophet (s.a.w) permit lying? Isn't lying a big sin? And isn't an assasination cowardly? What is the whole story?Thank you very much.

Dear Scholars:as-salamu ?alaykum.there are still prevailing customs & traditions among Muslims in Southern Philippines where virginity is measured by vaginal bleeding during the first sexual intercourse during the first night of newly wed couple. In fact, if the married woman do not bleed at first night during sexual intercourse the husband file divorce immediately based on that presumption. What is the Islamic opinion regarding this matter? Assalaamu alaikumI am having trouble with missionaries who claim that the Qur'an is not complete. The main concern is the so-called verse of Rajm (stoning). I read that some scholars say it was abrogated from recitation but not in ruling, but the missionaries remind us that the Qur'an says that Allah does not abrogate anything unless a similar or better verse is subsitituted for it. In this case, no verses were substituted, and it's leading me in circles. Are the hadiths which talk about stoning being a verse strong or weak hadiths? For example the missionaries have stated a hadith that mention the actual verse and it would have been reinserted if it were not for fear of the people, and another which states that the leaf it was written on was eaten by a goat. Are these reliable hadiths? Also, when the verses were collected during Abu Bakr's caliphate, were ones that could not be found written down just forgotten from the book? I apologise for the multitude of questions, it is just that i always thought that the Qur'an is a completely preserved book, and i do not like doubts creeping into my heart. Jazakallah

Is piracy allowed in islam ?assalaamualaikum,nowadays there is a huge development in the technology and internet world . The software available on the internet is way too expensive . So , people are using piracy and downloading and burning them to disc and using them . What is an Islamic perspective on that ? Also , is piracy allowed in Islamic books which are copyright protected but the person who wants to gain knowledge cannot afford it . There are also websites like http://www.islamictorrents.net and http://www.sunnitorrents.com which have tons of software and books and quran recitations which are copyright protected and are available on book stores with a price. They say that they are spreading knowledge but , isn't they causing loss to the business of the islamic bookstore ? What type of copying is allowed in islamic books ?

Assalamu alaikum. I am curious about the story of Noah's Ark, from the Islamic perspective. I think the conventional story of the prophet Noah(PBUH) bringing all the animals of the world together is a bit strange, because, there are several animals which live in different parts of the world. For example,  polar bears live only in Antarctica. But how could the prophet Noah(PBUH) go to Antarctica at that time? I hope you can clarify this matter.

I own two houses - each worth £500,000 - and also £500,000 in cash. I want to donate the two houses to an Islamic charity and leave the cash money for my children. Can I do that? If I can't, then what's the limitation I should abide by when spending of my wealth for charity?" Jazakum Allahu khayran.

Are these mortgages halal or haram because in my view they have only changed the name of interest to ijarah; otherwise, they are charging the same rate as the Bank of England. what is different between murabahah and a simple bai'? i have confuse is murabahah and bai' bithaman ajil are similar or not..? and i have heard that murabahah in Islamic bank of britain is been cancelled, is that true and why?

MAKING AN OATH THAT IS LATER REGRETTEDassalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatulah. A few years back I had relationship with a muslim man without being married. We used to call each other husband and wife in our own privacy, and he had convinced me that in Islam we were married because the angels had witnessed us calling each other husband and wife. << He also made me swear by Allah that in the Hereafter I would ask Allah that he is in Jannah with me as my husband, even if I were to get married to someone else later in life. >>  Then Allah guided me to realise that that man, even though the son of an imam, was a hypocrite, so I expelled him from my life. Allah also guided me to realise that, even if that man had been of perfect character, I had still committed a grevious sin. So I repented bitterly, and spent 2 years away from illegal liaisons, wearing hijab, asking for forgiveness, and developing my Islam. When I felt my heart somehow lighter from the burden of my past, I sought to get married, and Allah showed me His great Mercy by leading me to a wonderful brother. I have now been married for three years, but that oath still troubles me. I love my husband and I want him to be in Jannah with me insha Allah.  It is certainly not my intention to ask Allah to be that other man's wife in Jannah. What are your views on the issue, and is there anything I can do to compensate for an oath now regretted? Thanking you in advance.

Some Indian newspapers reported that some Indian Muslim scholars in India 's eastern state of West Bengal ordered a couple to separate after hearing that the husband had uttered the divorce word thrice in his sleep. Could you please enlighten me if uttering the word "divorce" while sleeping renders the divorce as valid. Jazakum Allahu khayran.

Dear Scholar, assalam alykum warahmatullahi wa barakatuhu. I've recently read an article about Taqleed and in that article a verse from the Holy Qoran was referred to provide evidence to say that it?s co mpulsory for a Muslim to do taqleed. The ayat quoted was: "And, ask the People of Knowledge if you do not know." By quoting this verse, the author derived the conclusion that denial of this principle of Taqleed is, therefore, an act of kufr which expels the denier from the fold of Islam. Now my question is, what?s a status of a person who believes in One True Allah and His messenger, His Holy Books, in Destiny, and Day of Judgment etc and thus fulfills all the basic requirements to be a Muslim but on the other hand, denies this principle of Taqleed and doesn?t wish to follow any Imam and argues that the Qoran and Sunnah is enough for him? Does he still belong to the fold of Islam or does he comes out of it? If you answer that he comes out of this, then will it not contradict another verse of Qoran which says that if any individual has even minimalist faith in the Islamic monotheism then it?s enough for him to enter Jannah? Please clarify. Also I?d like to ask why the Ahl e Sunnah Wal Jamaah restrict Taqleed upto 4 Imaams only? Jazakallahu khair
