All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.
Sheikh Ahmad Kutty, A Senior Lecturer and an Islamic Scholar at the Islamic Institute of Toronto, Ontario, Canada , states when attending to the matter of choosing between what parents want and what religion wants. He gives the following analysis:

When you have a matter that warrants you to choose between your religious principle and your parents wish, as a Muslim, you are to choose that which pleases Allah and satisfies your conscience. If your parents require you to come live with them and you are afraid that you are going to lose your faith if you obey, then you should not move to live with your parents.

In this case, you should pay them regular visits and keep in touch with them on a regular basis, helping them in all other ways possible.
If, however, you are confident that you can keep your faith while staying with them, then you should move there at least on a short term basis. You may move back after making arrangements to take care of them.
You should pray to Allah to inspire you to do what is right and strengthen your heart.

May Allah guide all of us to His right path!
