Generally speaking it is permissible to eat all parts of halal zabiha meat after slaughtering it. However, there are some parts that may have a special ruling such as the shed blood which is haram to eat according to the consensus of Muslim scholars.

Also, some hanafi jurists are of the opinion that it is haram to eat seven parts which are: the shed blood, the animal’s mate, testicles, the mate of a she-animal, the gland, the (urinary) bladder, and the gall bladder. They based their opinion on Almighty Allah’s saying, “… for he commands them what is just and forbids them what is evil.” (Al-A`raf: 157) Also, they based their ruling on the hadith reported by Mujahid that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) despised to eat from the sheep the following parts: the animal’s mate, testicles, the mate of a she-animal, the gland, the (urinary) bladder, the gall bladder, and the blood.  So, according to some Hanafi jurists, these parts are haram because they are despicable to people of sound nature.

However, it is reported that Imam Abu Hanifah is of the opinion that eating the shed blood is haram but he said that it is reprehensible to eat the other six parts because the prohibition of eating the poured blood is well established according to the text of the Qur’an. Almighty Allah says, “Say: I find not in that which is revealed unto me aught prohibited to an eater that he eat thereof, except it be carrion, or blood poured forth.” But it is reprehensible to eat the other parts according to ijtihad (personal reasoning).
