It is not sinful whatsoever by sleeping while directing our feet towards the north. Besides, there is no proof that states that there is something sacred that lies in the north.
Moreover, if the Ka`bah lies in the north direction at where you live, then it is also permissible to stretch out your feet in such direction, as long as you do so without the intent to show disrespect towards the Ka`bah.
