Sheikh Ahmad Kutty, a senior lecturer and Islamic scholar at the Islamic Institute of Toronto, Ontario, Canada , states: Although the Hajj one performs while on assignment is considered as valid, it is still better for someone working as Hajj assistant to go for Hajj again with their own lawfully earned income in order to fulfill their Hajj farida. For Hajj proper is a jihad involving body, wealth and soul. Since an Hajj assistant does not spend on the trip or its expenses, they owe it to themselves to do so by sacrificing their own money and paying for it from their own pocket. That is the safest way for someone working as an assistant, especially when such person has doubts in their mind. In acts of worship, the preferred route to follow is to go for the safest and most pious option.
