I went to the Sacred Precinct of Makkah, but, out of my hand, I could not perform the `Umrah; I did not even start circumambulating the Ka`bah. I went back to Jeddah late during that night. The issue of repeating Umrah more than one time in a single trip to Makkah for Hajj is lawful if it’s done from masjid `A’ishah. Sheikh ‘Abdul ‘Aziz ibn Baz was asked: If someone comes to Makkah for Hajj or ‘Umrah, then is it permissible for him after that to perform another ‘Umrah for himself

Assalamu'alaikum, Dear scholar I'm about to perform my hajj this coming season. I'm still confuse whether to strictly follow my tradional mazhab : Syafie or find my self in the 'new' found approach - comparative fiqh - that is to follow straight to the al-Quran and sunnah in performing my hajj. Please advice me. Thank you. Wassalam
As Salamu Alaikum. I will be performing Hajj this time. Will you please advise what 'Duaa's are needed for recitation at each Rukan during Taawaf ? Different versions written in various books have confused me. Or simply advise the rituals to be followed during Tawaf.

Respected scholars, as-salamu `alaykum. Respected scholar, what are the essentials of Hajj for the first visitor? Jazakum Allahu khayran.
It is heared that the best nights of the year are the last 10 days of Ramadan and the best days of the year are the first 10 days of Dulhijja. I also heared a hadith saying that good deeds in the first days of Dulhijja are best - afdal - The prophet was asked - even martyrdom oh Prohphet? -, the questioner was told that yes, even greater than jihad except one who went with his wealth and body and neither of it returned...(above are not the actual wording of the hadith). Could you kindly elaborate on it? considering the appropriateness of the subject (as we are about to enter the month of Dulhijj) your quick answer is expected. May Allah Bless you in plenty for the services rendered in His causes. I mean, if there is such greatness for these days, what are the recommended acts especially for those who are not performing Hajj. wassalamu alaikum.

Asalam Alaikam,Inshallah, My husband and I are going for Hajj this year. I will be on my monthly period when we first leave the United States. My question is Should I get into the State of Ihram at the Meeqat in the Plane and do all the rights of Umrah except for the Tawaf and when I make Gushul, then do the Tawaf? Or would it be better If I do not adapt the Ihram in the plane and then go back to the Meeqat and adopt Ihram for Umrah after I have made my Ghusul? If the first option is better, will I be in the State of Ihram for the rest of my period until I make ghusul and then the tawaf? Also, am I allowed to go to the Haram (Madinah and Mecca)or recite the Quran while I am menustarting? Thank you so much, May Allah bless you for all the wonderful work that you do.
Respected scholars, as-salamu `alaykum. While one is in the state of ihram, is it permissible to use toothpaste? Also can one use unperfumed creams in this state? Jazakum Allahu khayran.
Dear Scholars:as-salamu ?alaikum! It is said that fasting on the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah will erase your sin one or two years backward and forward. Does it refer to major sins or minor sins only? Jazakum Allahu khayran.
During Hajj I saw many women covering their face (wearing niqab) when in state of ihram and during tawaf. It is my understanding that covering face is prohibited during Hajj espeicially when in state of ihram. Am I wrong?
I have an occasional flatulence problem. My problem is worse during fajar and alright for some prayers. There have been times when I have to repeat my wudu 3 or 4 or even more times for the same namaz. There are times when I can complete the whole namaz. I was lucky enough to go for hajj alhamdullilah this year with my husband and my problem got worse, I do sometimes imagine that my wudu has broken so will repeat it just to ensure that I have wudu. I think I MAY have broken wind during tawaf e ziayara but was not sure so repeated the tawaf with fresh wudu, however I THINK the same happened again I am not sure if it just my clothes rubbing against me, I just don?t know, and feel really distraught about the whole thing, I keep thinking whether I had wudu or not. I don?t even know whether my hajj was ok or whether I need to do it again or what??!! I also have piles (haemorrhoids) which got worse during hajj. It may have been that rubbing against my skin. I always doubt whether I have my wudu. As for the tawaf I know that if I was sure that I had broken wind then I would definitely had repeated my wudu but I wasn?t sure. At times when I do break wind I definitely know, but my problem is worse whilst praying namaz. I think I may have just let something tiny out without being knowing or being sure. I just keep concentrating on whether something is coming out instead of the prayer. I would never go to the holy mosque in the morning I prayed in my hotel room because of my problem so that I was able to repeat my wudu if needed. I feel really depressed and embarrassed about the whole situation please reply soon. Was my tawaf and hajj ok?? Please tell what I should do. Do I have to go for hajj again?? Please reply as soon as possible and pray for me Jazakalla khair. May allah create more people like you who are dedicated to guiding others
Assalaam-o-alaikum. Dear respected scholar. Does diluted zam zam water acquire the properties of pure zam zam water?

Respected scholars, as-salamu`alaykum warahmatullah. After a week, in sha' Allah, I will be traveling to perform `Umrah, and I have gold jewelry to wear as adornments. So, is it permissible for me to wear it during my ihram?thanks for your efforts.
Dear Sheick, My father passed away this yera. We would love to make Hij for him as he wanted to go last but wasn't able to. My father went to Hij about 20 years ago. But we would like to do it again for him, is that permissible, will he get the benefits of it, would all his sins be forgiven inshalla.
As-salamu `alaykum. Does the person wearing ihram have to show the right or left arm? When should he do so: all the time or at specific times? I see people doing both so I get confused. Jazakum Allahu khayran.
As-salamu `alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. What is the correct time for throwing the pebbles in Hajj? Some people insist that it should start after zawal while others say it could be done after Fajr?
Respected sheikh, as-salamu `alaykum. I performed Hajj before I married, al-hamdulillah. Now my wife wants to perform Hajj, and I have other important financial obligations (chil dren's education and so on). Is Hajj fard (obligatory) on her in this situation? If not, does she have to wait? If she has enough money for herself only, and I do not have sufficient money for the Hajj expenses for myself and four children (since we cannot leave them here, as we do not have any close relatives here), will the Hajj still be fard on her, or does she have to wait till I, as the mahram, can also afford to accompany her? Jazaka Allahu Khayran for your answer.
As-salamu `alaykum. What should I do if I have regular vaginal discharge, that stops and starts throughout the day but is not continuous, during Tawaf? Do I have to stop and cleanse the private parts, perform wudu’ and change my clothes and then start all over? I do not think it will be easy because of the crushing crowds.
Respected scholars, as-salamu `alaykum. Is there any special du’aa' (supplication) to be recited while drinking Zamzam water? Jazakum Allahu Khayran.
As-salamu `alaykum. Is it compulsory to marry before one performs Hajj? My mother had begun to search for suitable brides, but I told her that I want to perform Hajj before I marry. I want to make myself as pure as possible before I engage myself to another person for the rest of our lives, in sha’ Allah. I have committed sins of which I am ashamed and hope that Allah the Almighty will forgive all my sins and make me a worthy and pure husband and Muslim, as well as a commendable part of this Ummah, in sha’ Allah.
Respected scholars, as-salamu `alaykum. What should I do if I have a wet dream (ihtilam in Arabic) during Hajj?
As-salamu `alaykum. Many people from Nigeria and West Africa miss entering the state of ihram at the designated miqat because we are on board the plane and eventually enter it from Jeddah. What is the implication of this? Is it okay or do I have to pay expiation?
Dear Imam, as-salamu `alaykum. I just returned from Hajj with an organizer who did not fulfill his duties as he neglected his Hajj group from the moment the money was paid. We were on our own to make Hajj intention and ihram at the miqat on our own. Some of us doubted whether we did it correctly. We had no guidance at all during our Hajj except from Allah the Almighty. We were told to be ready to departure at least 12 hours before the bus arrives. Therefore, we all had to do Tawaf Al-Wada` the night before. As the bus was delayed, some of us went shopping at the hotel to buy food and other last minute gifts. I read somewhere that once the last Tawaf is done you may not buy any gifts or anything of the sort. Did those of us who went shopping violate the rules of Hajj? If so, what can we do to correct that? Also, if we have to make a sacrifice, can we do it at the mosque in theUSA, or is it better send the money for it to be done to feed the poor back home? Jazaka Allahu khayran.
Respected Sheikh, as-salamu `alaykum. I intended to perform Hajj this year and I prepared myself to perform this obligation. It took nearly all the money I had and I asked Allah the Almighty in every prayer that I would be able to do this act of worship. Unfortunately, I was not able to because in my country only a limited amount of visas are given; by the way, I am still a student. My question is: Will Allah the Almighty grant me the reward of the Hajj, including standing at `Arafat and forgiveness for all my sins and mistakes and will this count as Hajj if I died before actually performing it? Thanks!
assalam u alaikummy problem is i have to repeat my vazu ablution many times for one namaz due to passage of wind from anus some times its my doubt that my vazu is broken and some times really ihave no control go 0n repeating vazu due to this i lost intrest in namaz.piease guide me and also tell me about reading quran with this problem. piease what is solution when i will go for tawaf and umrah and madinah and hajj.
We have been hearing calls for postponing Hajj and `Umrah this year because of fears of spread of swine flu. What is the Shari`ah ruling in this regard?
As the ten blessed days of Dhul-Hijjah are approaching, I know that these are virtuous days, in which good deeds are highly recommended by the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him). But my question is: could you please shed light on the virtue and merits of these blessed days?
What is the true meaning of Hajj to Muslims? What feelings do they experience whilst partaking in Hajj? Does it really change the life of a Muslim? Does he truly become closer to Allah?
Pilgrims travel to the sacred sites in Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj. Please, enlighten me as to the ethics and significance of this Islamic rite.
Is it permissible for a menstruating woman to recite du`aa’ that includes verses from the Qur’an when she is at `Arafah?
If a woman has her monthly period during her stay in Makkah or Madinah During Hajj, is it completely impermissible for her to enter the Sacred Mosque in Makkah or the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah? It seems most of the scholars are of the opinion that it is impermissible. However, we know that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) allowed a woman who cleaned the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah) to actually put up a tent inside where she could stay and preserve her privacy. Could you please clarify this issue for us?
Dear scholars, as-salamu `alaykum. Kindly enlighten us on things that should be avoided as well as good acts that are recommended for Muslims during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah. Jazakum Allah khayran!

As-salamu `alaykum dear scholar. My mother-in-law is ill and old and is not capable of performing Hajj. For this reason, we decided to send my brother-in-law to perform Hajj on her behalf. However, he did not perform his Hajj due to financial problems. Is it acceptable?

Salam, I have a few questions, 1)I would like to know whether a woman on her menses can perform umrah? 2) If a woman cannot perform the umrah whilst on her menses, can she stay with her relatives/other people whilst they are doing the umrah? 3) If a woman has her menses in her home country (before setting out on hajj) can a woman still do all the rites of hajj, or does her menses have to start during hajj in order to qualify to perfom all the hajj rites? 3) If a woman's menses finishes before leaving hajj, I have heard that she has to do the tawaaf ul ifadah at the end of her menses. But what if she does not get time as during the days left the rest of the hajj rites are being done. Can she then do the tawaf whilst on her menses as then she may not get enough time? 4) Following on from my last question is she allowed to do her tawaaf ul ifadah (which was left due to her menses) whilst the other rites of hajj are being done, or does she have to do it at the end of all the hajj rites? Jazakallah khair, I am very confused please help me out.
Respected scholars, as-salamu `alaykum. I know that Allah the Almighty does not order us to do anything except for wisdom. Performing Hajj is not just about gathering in a certain place for a certain period of time. It has another meaning within, what could that be? Jazakum Allahu Khayran.
As-salamu `alaykum. Can a woman go to Hajj on behalf of a deceased man? Or, more precisely, can my female cousin, who already went to Hajj many times, go to Hajj on behalf of my deceased father? My father is her uncle from her father's side. She was doing `Umrah when my father passed away. She even did `Umrah for him before he was laid to rest. Please let me know. Thanks.
As salamu alekumI trust this email finds Sheikh in good health inshaAllahI would like to ask Sheikh a questionPlease understand that the question is more for informing myself and my immediate family.Noting that Cape Town Muslims have many peculiar practices, they nevertheless some how or another justify these. It seems "normal" though for people to do things believing it being right although it is not confirmed by the sunnah. One practice in particular that is common, which in my own limited research I could not find, is the adhan when people depart especially for hajj or umrah. What is the basis for this? if not from the sunnah, should one do it irrespcetive?Jazakallah bi kherwas salamu alekum wa rahmatullah
Respected scholars, as-salamu `alaykum. Why do we see men and women at Hajj time, praying in the same line; some men even physically touch women while praying in the same line. How can this be acceptable during Hajj and not after? Jazakum Allahu Khayran.

On the day of Arafat, we started from Arafat to Muzdalifa in the evening at 10 PM since we could not get a vehicle to go early. We could not walk and go to Muzdalifa as my old. parents were also with me. Due to crowd and traffic jam, we reached Muzdalifa at 6 am in the morning and missed the maghrib, isha prayers as well as fajr prayers. I could only pray khaza prayers for fajr. Please let me know if my hajj is complete?
Respected scholars, as-salamu `alaykum.there are some people who argue and suggest that it is better not to perform `Umrah these days to avoid being infected with swine flu. What is the Shari`ah perspective of this? Jazakum Allahu Khayran.
Asak, I had to travel from Atlanta to India. But one of my friends suggested that I should make a stop over at Jeddah and apply for transit visa for Saudi. I took his advice and applied and alhmd. i got the transit visa. But during this process (as everything happened last minute) I delayed making aggrangements for Ihram for me and my Family and I tried to find them and inquired with my friends and family if they had any Ihrams. But none of this gave any results. I had no choice to proceed without Ihram for jeddah. But after reaching Jeddah, I bought ahram there and wore it. Just to let you the main intention for the stop over at jeddah was Umrah. Do I have to give Dumm for my mistake?? Please advice me. Thank You

Salam Alikum,I sold my apartment which was financed through an Islamic institution, but when I sold it and bought a house they couldn?t provide the financing which forced me into taking a conventional mortgage (Riba). I had also bought a pre-construction home which I was planning to sell upon completion. However, due to the real estate market I am now stuck with two interest based mortgages. I plan to go to hajj inshAllah this year and I don?t want to have this on my conscious. What do you recommend I do, should I wait until next year?

As-salamu `alaykum,I live inCanada, and I am flying to Saudi Arabia for a business trip, but I am also planning to do `Umrah, in sha' Allah. I have two questions as follows:1. Do I have to enter Makkah in the state of ihram or can I delay this until I start doing the `Umrah after my business trip is over?2. Should I pray qasr (shorten the number of rak`ahs in prayer) if it happens that I miss the prayer in congregation or I don't have to pray qasr in Saudi Arabia ? My friend told me that I don't have to because "it is the heart of Islam."
