The eminent Muslim scholar and renowned Da`iyah, Sheikh `Abdel Khaliq Hasan Ash-Shareef, states: “There are many evidences in the authentic sources of Shari`ah telling about the acceptance of du`aa’ in prostration during Prayers, after performing Prayer, in the last third of the night, at As-Safa and Al-Marwah, when making tawaf (circumambulating the Ka`bah), etc.

There is no doubt that the place where the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was buried is a good place to make du`aa’ in, but the criterion in acceptance is sincerity and purity of the heart bearing into consideration that when making du`aa’ all are close to Allah Who says in the Glorious Qur’an, “…And when My servant question thee concerning Me, then surely I am nigh. I answer the prayer of the suppliant when he crieth unto Me…” (Al-Baqarah 2: 186) Almighty Allah did not make any mention to the graves of righteous persons or others, nevertheless we do not label a Muslim who makes du`aa’ to Allah at such places as a disbeliever.
