In the first place, we would like to stress that as Muslims we are to follow the true teachings of Islam as sound and correct as followed by the Companions, their successors as well as true Muslims in every age and clime. Thus, you have to steer clear of baseless and groundless beliefs. Correct and sound belief based on the authentic sources, Qur’an and the Sunnah, is the straight path for every Muslim.

Moreover, we would like to stress that the so-called Twelve Imams and the belief of their infallibility is not based on sound proofs and it is in conflict with the clear teachings of Islam.

Here, we would like to stress that “all the Muslims are unanimously agreed that only the Prophets (peace and blessings be upon them all) are infallible and protected from error in that which they conveyed from Allah. There is no dispute on this point among the scholars. Allah says, “By the star when it goes down (or vanishes). Your companion (Muhammad) has neither gone astray nor has erred. Nor does he speak of (his own) desire. It is only a Revelation revealed. He has been taught (this Qur’aan) by one mighty in power (Gabriel)” (An-Najm 53:1-5)

Moreover, the Muslim Ummah has agreed that only the Messengers are infallible in their conveying the message. They did not forget anything that Allah revealed to them, except for things that were abrogated.”

It is for the above evidence that there is no infallibility except for Allah’s Prophets (peace and blessings be upon them all). We as Muslims, should stick to the truth and avoid any attempt which tend to perplex us regarding our belief or else sow doubts in our hearts.
