The type of discomfort that makes it permissible for one of the couples to seek divorce is a discomfort that involves an unbearable harm. As for an endurable discomfort, it is disliked to seek divorce because of it for (divorce) is the most despicable permissible deed to Allah.
The prophet Saw said: “A believing man should not hate a believing woman. If he dislikes one of her characteristics, he will be pleased with another”.
Smoking is one of the common plights that are difficult to avoid. If the door to divorce as a result of smoking is opened, it will lead to a bigger evil, probably bigger than the evil of smoking itself.
