Sheikh `Abdul-Majeed Subh, a prominent Azharite scholar, states: “There is nothing wrong to touch man’s face while examining his eyes as long as this is done within the limits of what is required and necessary for medical examination and treatment. In other words, a professional medical doctor that’s a female must limit physical contacts with male patients to the absolute minimum that is necessary for diagnosing and treatment.
Medical doctors should also take all the necessary safeguards such as making sure that their assistant or nurse is around while you are treating patients from the opposite gender [and to wear gloves if possible].”
