Explaining the Sharia Ruling regarding this, sheikh `Abd Al-Khaliq Al-Sharif, a prominent scholar and Da`yah, said:
If this antiperspirant really forms a layer that prevents water from reaching the skin, then obligatory wudu’ and ghusl, while applying it, will be invalid. This is because, water has to reach the skin of the organs of wudu and the whole body in ghusl.
