It is noteworthy that choosing the right husband is not an easy thing to do. It is a very crucial choice because both the man and the lady will share one life. Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) focused on the issue of choosing a good husband in a number of hadiths.
He (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “If a person who is known for his good religion and manners wants to get married to one of your daughters, let him get married. Otherwise, there will be a turmoil and a great mischief.” (Sunan al-TIrmidhi)
In his explanation on this, Imam Yassir Fazaga stated,
The Internet is a place where one can meet people. However, One should keep the following points in mind when he chats with others on the Internet:
1. Be safe. On the net, many times, people are not who they say they are.
2. Avoid investing emotionally in someone whom you have not met: It is very easy to create an image in our heads and fall in love with that image.
3. Make sure that you are God-conscious when you get to know a person:
A. Avoid getting addicted to chatting with that person.
B. Assure that there is always a third party who listens to what you say and observes what you write.
C. Avoid late-night chat.
