Regarding the status of the pilgrimage of a person who used perfume while he or she is in Ihram, the response below given by a prominent scholar, Sheikh `Abdul-Majeed Subh, to a similar question will suffice in addressing this issue. He said:
“Your `Umrah is valid but you left an obligatory duty of `Umrah which is not cutting short a few hairs of yours.
As you have left an obligatory duty (wajib) of `Umrah you have to cut your hair now and offer a compensatory sacrifice, to be slaughtered in Makkah and its meat distributed to the poor. You can entrust anyone or a trustworthy company to do this on your behalf in Makkah.”
