Islam encourages its followers, men and women, to get married and to be careful when choosing the spouse considering religiosity to be basis of this choice. One of the main objectives and good intentions a Muslim ought to have when getting married is to have good children who will worship their Lord, support their religion and help their Ummah. Marriage is not only for satisfying one’s desire but also an opportunity to please Allah through having many good intentions, including having good children.
Therefore, Islam prohibits sterilization as it poses a threat to the spread and continuity of the Ummah.
