Dr. Marawan Shahin, Professor of Hadith and its Sciences, Faculty of Usul Ad-Din (Theology),Al-Azhar Univ. states: “In principle, there is nothing wrong in residing in a non-Muslim country for economic reasons or for supporting a family as long as a Muslim can practice his religion freely and there is no fear of temptation or seduction. However, economic reasons or the need to support a family can not be a justification or excuse to lie and to make fake cases to take asylum.”

Having stated the above, it becomes clear that the economic reasons cannot be a justification for residing permanently in a non-Muslim country. Furthermore, they are not a justification or excuse for lying and making fake cases to take asylum in the West.
