Dr. Muhammad Abu Laylah, professor of the Islamic Studies & Comparative Religions atAl-Azhar Univ. states: “Jesus according to Islam is a great Prophet and Messenger of Allah. He is a word that comes from Allah. He like all prophets before him taught people about Allah, His existence, His Beautiful Names and show people by words and deeds how to be moral.
He is not neither a god nor son of god. He is a man but infallible and righteous. He made miracles like all Allah’s prophets. I remind you also that he was born miraculously without father. He was also called in the Qur’an Jesus son of Marry.He neither said that he was god nor son of god. There is no a direct statement by Jesus to attest to this claim, i.e. he is a god or a son of god.”
