Responding to the question of a Muslim woman watching men playing football,, Sheikh `Abdul-Majeed Subh, a prominent Azharite scholar, said:
“There is difference of opinion among Muslim scholars regarding man’s `Awrah (parts of the body that must be covered). According to Imam Malik, thigh is not among man’s `Awrah. So, there is nothing wrong in watching football players wearing shorts.”
