In the UK a doctor must touch and examine a patient of the opposite sex, even when a doctor of the more appropriate gender is at hand, or when a mahram is not present. Is this halal?

i am 18 years old. next year i will go to university, insha,allah.  i take my deen seriously, alhamdulillah. i want to study to be an opthalmic optician. this will mean that sometimes i would have to touch men's faces to examine their eyes. please advice if this is appropriate. thanks.

Respected scholars, as-salamu`alaykum. I'm currently a police officer in Toronto, Canada. It was brought to my attention that by me being a police officer, I'm going against the Shari`ah by putting a manmade law first and enforcing it.also, by me enforcing manmade laws, I'm going against one of the basic principles of tawheed [Arabic for: Oneness of Allah; monotheism according to Islamic teachings], basically by going against some of Almighty Allah's sacred names such as the Judge and the Legislator and He — not people — is the only one who can legislate. I don't believe this to be true because I'm not putting democratic law before the Shari`ah. My intention was always to reduce the amount of criminals and to be able to promote Islam to the general public by my words and actions. My job doesn't prevent me from practicing my religion as I'm allowed to fast and pray as well while on duty. I was hoping first of all that I'm allowed to be a police officer, and if so, is there any proof in the Qur'an or the Sunnah to back it up?the fact that my career may be conflicting with my religion has brought me a great deal of stress. If you can please advise me, it would greatly be appreciated. Jazakum Allahu khayran.

I am a govt. employee in India and I think that according to shariaa haj is fard on me as I have enough money in my Provident Fund account.During the period of haj I was sent to mecca by the govt. on deputation as haj assistant to serve at Indian Haj Mission.  While applying for this post it was clearly said that I will not be allowed to perform haj. However, when in mecca the office allowed me to perform haj.  I performed haj and I had already performed umrah after landing in mecca.  they did not give me the consent in writing but only verbally.  The question is that whether this Haj is valid or not.  Even if it is valid whether my fard haj is performed or not.  I have not paid any expenses for coming from India as I was on duty the fare was paid by the office and I am even getting salary. Whether it is necessary to pay all expensed on my own for performing haj.  Please clearify if I have to perform haj again my fard haj.thank you. Jazzak Allah.

salam aleykom. i'm graduated from a prestgious school in my coutry al hamdolillah and i'm looking for a job. but mom know the brother in law of a very big company, and he told her he can talk to his brother in law and he'll accept to give me a job in that company, without being evaluated in any job interview. and normally, to have a similar job, you have to apply like the other ones who're seeking for a job  and then you have to succeed in the interview job and show that you're better than the other ones. i did not give my resumé yet to that guy who mom knows because i'm not sure that it's halal to have a job this way. so is it halal or haram? jazakom allah  khayran

Will it permissible for my wife's work in muslim country like Bnagladesh in men and women envrionment by maintaining Hijab and islamic rules?My wife are working in Muslim country Bangladesh in Men & women environment? She became a graduate Chemical Engineer and for this purpose, she wants to do job. She also wants to do job by giving money to her mother and mother as her father and mother are not very much capable of maintaining their family. I don't want to help her family also. Because I need to help my mother and my brothers family. I also don't need my wife's income. What can I do now?

I am working for a private company, and my employer is not giving me my full rights. He has not paid me overtime or a bonus for three years. I have under my authority some goods that belong to the company and my employer does not know about that. Can I sell these things to take the equivalent of my rights? ]]>

Dear scholrs, I am a lawyer and sometimes I act on behalf of a thief, defending him in the court. If I already know that this man is guilty and I still defend him, are the fees that I get from him considered unlawful?
