The eminent Muslim scholar and renowned Da`iyah, Sheikh `Abdel Khaliq Hasan Ash-Shareef, states: “No doubt that, according to the most reliable sources, we must respect and love all the Companions and the household members of the Prophet due to all their efforts and struggle in striving for Allah’s Cause and spreading the message of Islam. We should do this without indulging in discussing the slight mistakes that may have been made by some of them, which is also liable to different interpretations that we are not aware of.

Rather than focusing on what some sects are saying about our beloved Prophet and his companions, what we should concern ourselves with is our future, our religious obligations, and the construction of our Ummah in light of the guidance of the Qur’an and Sunnah. In doing so, our motto should be the Qur’anic verse: “Those are a people who have passed away; theirs is that which they earned and yours that which ye earn. And ye will not be asked of what they used to do.” (Al-Baqarah: 141).”
