Zeinab Al-`Alawani, Instructor of Fiqh and Islamic Studies,Graduate School of Islamic and Social Sciences, states the following: “First of all men should realize that “talaq” is a serious matter and it is not a game. It means the breaking up of this important matrimonial relationship that is highly emphasized by Islam. Therefore, I advise men to control their temper and accustom themselves to NOT using the word “talaq” when they get into argument or anger.
Moreover, if talaq was uttered in a case of extreme anger that would mean invalidation of that talaq.
