As regards the question, we quote a fatwa by the Standing Committee for Islamic Research and Ifta’, concerning similar question and they said,
“It is recommendable to make up for missed fasts, in accordance with the Hadith of the Prophet (peace be upon him) in which he said, “Whoever dies while committed to (obligatory) fast, his Wali (heir or relatives) should fast on behalf of him.”
