Muslims are ordered to follow the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and follow his Sunna. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is reported to have commanded to follow his Sunnah and the Sunnah of the four rightly-guided Caliphs after him. He warned us against innovations in this religion and he said that such innovation will be rejected.
Dr. Rif`at Fawzi, former professor of Shari`ah at Cairo Univ., states:
It should be known that the practice mentioned is not part of the Sunnah. We should know what is Sunnah and what is not. Mentioning the name of Allah in all cases is something for which we will be rewarded. Just people need to be warned against innovations in this religion.”
