Dr. Rif`at Fawzi, former professor of Shari`ah at Cairo Univ., states the following:
“There is nothing wrong in having a favourite number as long as one doesn’t go beyond that such as believing that this number has a religious significance or itself can affect his/her future.
As for the Seven Heavens, we can say that such number is related to a Divine Wisdom which we don’t know. Sometimes, we may know the wisdom behind a certain act worship act or thing in Islam, but at other times we fail short to grasp the Divine Wisdom due to our limited knowledge and shortsightedness.”
