The response given by Dr. Monzer Kahf to a question asked by a lady will be useful in this regard. He stated the following;
‘ Riba is prohibited in Sharia and that prohibition has no exception. Of course any prohibition (except murder) may have the exception of necessity. I do not see starting a business a real necessity that warrants relaxation of such a very grave prohibition, besides being risky too. You should help creating an Islamic financial institution in your country in order to help you and other Muslims around you.
On another ground, No human being can claim to know what Allah would do to a sinner. Allah told us in the Qur’an that he may forgive any sin except the sin of associating partners with Him. Allah is most forgiver and most merciful at the same time he has very severe punishment’
