As regards the question, we quote a fatwa by Sheikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah confer mercy upon him, who said,
As regards the Hajj of the Prophet (peace be upon him), the right opinion is that he performed Hajj Qiran (to enter into ihram for both `Umrah and Hajj, and does not go out of ihram until the day of `Eid Al-Adha at Mina). This is the right opinion that has been verified by knowledgeable scholars who collected the hadiths about the Prophet in this regard and are aware of their meaning.
Imam Ahmad said, “I have no doubt that the Prophet (peace be upon him) performed Hajj Qiran.
