Dr. Rif`at Fawzi, former professor of Shari`ah atCairo Univ., states: “A Muslim should set a good example for others in all aspects of life. So, whether in a real or a virtual life a Muslim should set a good example in abiding by the ethics and morals of Islam. Therefore, a Muslim is prohibited to hug a non-mahram person of the opposite sex or do any un-Islamic behavior in a real or virtual life. Thus, imagining to do something haram in a virtual life is also haram as it leads to haram in reality and Islam blocks the means to evil.”
