It is well known that in Islamic inheritance, the man is entitled to receive a share that is equal to a double share of the female. This fact is supported by the Qur’an as Allah Almighty says, [Allah chargeth you concerning (the provision for) your children: to the male the equivalent of the portion of two females] (An-Nisaa’ 4:11). However, if the male heirs according to the question in point willingly, of their own free will, want to take a lesser share, then there is nothing wrong with that.
