The eminent Muslim scholar and renowned Da`iyah, Sheikh `Abdel Khaliq Hasan Ash-Shareef, states: “If there are crumbs left in one’s mouth before prayer then such person has to use whatever available means to remove such crumbs before starting Prayer. Besides rinsing their mouth well, they can brush their teeth or use siwak or both. Nevertheless, if during Prayer one felt some crumbs in their mouth, they should not eat them.”
