Nothing would get to the dead as reward from the living, except for acts performed (in order) to obey or move closer to Allah, and charity made to the poor and needy who are beneficiaries and subjects of zakat.
As for feeding the rich at parties held in accordance with customs and traditions, this is neither an act of worship nor a way to get closer to Allah. Therefore, nothing in these deeds (or acts) reaches the dead.
