Sheikh `Abdul-Majeed Subh, a prominent Azharite scholar, states: “Muslim jurists have different views regarding yellowish discharge. Some scholars are of the opinion that the yellowish discharge is considered an end for the woman’s menstrual cycle and thus she is required to perform ghusl and resume prayer. If some yellowish discharge still comes out, then she can use a towel, make wudu’ and offer prayer.
Another group of Muslim scholars including the mother of the believers `A’ishah are of the opinion that the woman is not considered purified unless the menstrual blood including the yellowish discharge stops totally.
