The best time to throw the pebbles is before noon on Dhul-Hijjah 10 because that is when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) threw them .
In this regard, we will cite what Sheikh Sayyed Sabiq states in his well-known book <>Fiqh Us-Sunnah: “The throwing of the pebbles can be divided between three and four days: the 10th, 11th and 12th of Dhul-Hijjah or these three and the 13th of Dhul-Hijjah. Allah says in the Qur’an: “Celebrate the praises of Allah during the appointed days. But if any one hastens to leave in two days there is no blame on him, and if anyone stays on there is no blame on him, if his aim is to do right.” (Al-Baqarah: 203). The best time to throw the pebbles is forenoon on the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) threw the pebbles before noon on that day.
Ibn ‘Abbas said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted the old and weak people of his family to throw first. Then he said, “Do not throw pebbles at the first Jamrat Al-`Aqabah before the sunrise” (At-Tirmidhi). Delaying the throwing to the end of the day is, however, permissible.
Ibn `Abdul-Barr said: “There is consensus among the scholars that if a pilgrim throws the pebbles on the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah before sunset, he will be considered as having thrown in time, although doing so is not desirable.”
Ibn `Abbas reported that on the Day of Sacrifice the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was told by a man at Mina that he had thrown his pebbles after sunset, whereupon he said to the man, “There is no harm” (Al-Bukhari).
