Opposite sex

Respected scholars, as-salamu `alaykum. I would like to know if it is haram for a married Muslim man to have female friends who are not co-workers or partners in business. Is friendship with persons from the opposite sex for the sake of mere friendship haram? Jazakum Allahu Khayran.

Asalam alaikum,I have a question regarding Muslim ladies and gentleman who greet each other and they are non-mahrem to each other - Are they allowed to respond with salams?I am a revert and I remember in the begining of my reversion I was sooo excited to see another muslim I would have a big smile and say asalam alaikum! I think I probably scared some brothers & sisters!!Just the other day a brother saw me walking down the street with my son and was so estatic to see another muslim and screamed his salams to us across the street. I was in a city that it is rare to see Muslims in proper hijab. Most blend in with unbelievers. I didn't respond because I would have had to scream it back and I felt it was fitting for a Muslim women to do so, but at the same time I remember that it is obligatory to give a greeting back, but wasn't sure if it allowed for women to respond to men because my husband had said no your not allowed, so I found myself confused. I also remembered myself when I first reverted and when someone wouldn't respond I would just feel horrible and isolated.So please with the help and guidance of Allah (swt) spread the true light on this situation. Asalamu alaikum! I used to go bike riding a lot over the last year with a friend of mine. Recently it occured to me to ask on this site, is it Islamically acceptable? I am an 18 year old male from Australia and she is an 18 year old girl from my old school. Is it ok if we go bike riding together. All we do is ride and talk. Purely for leisure. My dear brother/sister, I await your reply! Salamz.

It's very common nowadays to have friends from the opposite sex and many would kiss and hug for greeting. The general belief is that these are only innocent friendships and that the feeling is the same as that between brothers and sisters. Could you please clarify the ruling in Islam on:a)making friends between the opposite sexes. b)hugging and kissing the opposite sex with no lust Kindly provide evidence.

Salam Wa Alakon, a non-muslim asked this question and i need an answer;(What is the real meaining and connection of washing of body parts with the spritual releam or with the Creater whether you call it Allah or God? Do you think that Allah is really interested with your wasging rituals?)and also ask this question:( *I know most or almost all people in Islamic faith refrain from touching the opposite sex. What does it mean? *Why a faithful man who averts his spritual and human counterpart, a women, due to his miconception of A llah? for Allah created both sex and at the same time the man is born of women and has sisters and women relatives too. It seems to me absured to reject touching and looking the opposite sex.) Jazallah!

Furthermore many Muslims are using online chats to seek friends and chat, but as we all know most men and women are seeking more than just friends. They are possibly looking for a future wife or husband. What is the Islamic stance on that?

I'm a good Muslim, I can't get married this year, I'm talking to someone in another country and we have an intimate relationship and we might get married if Allah wills. Sometimes our talk involves sex. I'm very keen about my faith and I don't want to breach any rules of Islam. I would like to know if talking by phone is prohibited in Islam or makruh (disliked), taking into account that it doesn't involve any real physical relation (since we are in different places) and it helps to keep both of us away from any other haram. Dear scholars, As-Salamu `alaykum. I am a 15 year old girl and I am fasting, but is it haram (prohibited) for me to hug someone of the opposite sex while I am fasting? Jazakum Allah khayran.

Is it Adultery?When I was a young teen ager I happened to see my middle aged neighbour fully naked and since that day till I got married I was thinking about her naked body while masturbating. I totally fo rgot about it and since I have been reading the question and answers here I am bit worried. Please tell me if I have been doing a sort of adultery for which I will be punished by Allah and if it is adultery what shall I do to get forgiveness.
