Assalamu 'alaykum, Is it allowed to take medications without nuliffying ones fasting other than oral like the use of suppository, injectable, nebulization, eye drops and topical during Ramadhan as far Islamic viewpoint is concerned? Shukran

Dear scholars, As-Salamu `alaykum. My question is in regards to medication. My mother suffers from sever osteoarthritis and it is very painful for her to stand and sit and perform daily functions. The pain is in her joints. I heard about this herbal medication called Lakota, which will probably help in repairing her cartilage and easing the pain, and possibly will give her full recovery. The problem is that one ingredient of this medication is Collagen Type II, which "is presently derived primarily from chicken sternum cartilage and has been scientifically proven to help arthritic (especially rheumatoid arthritis sufferers) patients repair damaged joint cartilage and prevent further joint cartilage degeneration.” My question is can I still get this medication for her to use or will it be haram? I look forward to your response.

Respected scholars, as-salamu `alaykum. I have a question about taking my medicines during Ramadan, some of which I have to take during the day (within fasting time). Is there any chance I can do it and continue fasting, since that these are neither food nor drink? Or should I just feed a poor for the whole month because there is no way I can stop taking the pills? Jazakum Allahu khayran.

Dear scholars, As-Salamu `alaykum. Is acupuncture considered as halal (lawful) or haram (unlawful)? My wife is thinking of going through this procedure for pregnancy reasons. It has been proven, and Allah knows best, in the United Kingdom that acupuncture will help in getting pregnant. I have the documents if you would like to go through it. Doctors may sometimes separate one of the Siamese twins in order to save the life of one of them. Such process may cause natural defects or death to one of the conjoined twins. However, if the separation process does not take place, both will die as a result. What is the Islamic legal ruling concerning the previous process?

Dear scholars, As-Salamu `alaykum. Lately, a sister passed away. During her lifetime she had the Morquio disease and so she had routine tests with it being a very rare disease. I would like to know if it is permissible in Islam to donate her medical records to specialists (to benefit other people suffering from the same disease). I ask this question although I have assured the family of the deceased that they can let other people benefit from them, but they would like to know Islam’s stance on this in order to have a clear conscience. Dear scholars, As-Salaam `Alaykum. I am a female dentist in the UK. I am concerned that by treating male patients I may be contravening Islamic teachings. I am not sure of the position of female Muslims working in the health profession where they have to treat male patients and with myself doing examinations of the mouth and hence touching men. Dear scholars, As-salamu `alaykum. Is skin grafting permissible in Islam? I mean conducting a surgery to add skin to distorted organs of the body that may be a result of burning or the like.
