The prominent Muslim scholar and Da`iyah Sheikh `Abdul-Khaleq Ash-Shareef, states the following: “A Muslim man is permitted to marry from all those who testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. It is worth mentioning here that Islam permitted the Muslim to marry chaste women from among the People of the Book, let alone Muslims from a different sect but within the criterion mentioned above (i.e. testifying that there is no God but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah).”
