Is Recitation of Al-Fatihah behind the Imam Obligatory?

In his response to this issue, the prominent Muslim scholar, Sheikh Muhammad Iqbal Nadvi, said:

“According to Imam Abu Hanifa, the recitation of the imam suffices for the recitation of the ma’mum, or the follower. Therefore, he does not reject the recitation of al-fatihah; he simply says that an imam’s recitation will suffice.”
