Each Muslim should try his best to find a righteous life partner while using lawful means that are approved by Islam. Resorting to superstitious acts is forbidden for a Muslim, and hence every Muslim should implore Allah earnestly to guide him to the best while shunning such forms of innovation that have no basis in Islam.

The Islamic Religious Council of Singapore states the following: The papas bathing ritual is a superstitious belief and an innovation in Islam. It is forbidden and should not be performed by Muslims. Instead, Muslims should seek Allah’s assistance, perform Salat Al-Hajah (prayer for specific needs), make a vow, feed the poor, and make du`aa’ to Allah through good deeds.
