Zainab Al-Alwani, Instructor of Fiqh and Islamic Studies, Graduate School of Islamic and Social Sciences, states the following: “I have two things to say in this case:
1. The labor pain is one of the reasons for getting forgiveness, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was reported to have chosen the easiest of matters when he was given the choice between two things. That means the reward is not always connected to suffering the hardship.
2. With different delivery methods available, pregnant women need to consider the natural ones more than any, as there are some research proving the benefits of natural delivery. So, to go for natural delivery even with undergoing harm and hardship is more healthy for woman and child.“
