Dr. Marawan Shahin, Professor of Hadith and its Sciences, Faculty of Usul Ad-Din (Theology), Al-Azhar Univ. states: “As a muslim lady, If you cannot know or recognise the blood discharge, then you should refer to a specialist doctor especially that you are suffering from hormonal imbalance as you said. So, the ruling depends on whether this is a menstrual blood or not. If it is decided that it is a menstrual blood, then your fasting has been broken and you have to make up for it. But if it is decided that it is not a menstrual blood then your fasting in that day is valid. If you are doubtful, then you can make up for that day by way of precaution.”
