Allah (SWT) says in the glorious Qur’an that he has created everything in pairs i.e. male and female. However some of the lower organisms like yeast, amoeba, etc. reproduce asexually and do not exhibit sexual reproduction. How do we explain this issue?
Dr. Main K. Al-Qudah A former Member of the Assembly of Muslim Jurists in America, responded to this and said,
No contradiction at all, because what is mentioned in the Qur’an is the general and basic nature of creatures. Even in the example mentioned (which is having two different genders) has an exemption, which is the fact that some people belong to the (third gender) or Hermaphrodite.
