Originally, the Muslim is permitted to work for a Jewish company. There are many evidences to this in the acts of the Prophet’s Companions (may Allah be pleased with them all). However, a Muslim is not permitted to work for a Jewish company operating inside Palestine or even outside Palestine but it supports the Zionist entity.
The London-based scholar and Da`iyahZienab Mostafa, states the following: “There is nothing wrong at all in working for a Jew because Islam allows a peaceful Jew to coexist with Muslims as long as he does not attack Islam. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to deal with Jews and when he died, his armor was mortgaged with a Jewish merchant. Also, the Caliph `Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) used to work on a farm belonging to a Jew. Therefore, there is nothing wrong at all in working for a Jew, especially if he is understanding and accommodating as you said.
The money you earn from working in that company is definitely halal but make sure that this company or employer does not support the illegal Zionist state in Palestine. We believe that our struggle is against Zionism as a political theory and not with Judaism as a religion. We respect everyone’s religion and we believe that all human beings can live peacefully on this planet if they have mutual understanding and respect.”
Moreover, Sheikh Faysal Mawlawi, deputy chairman of the European Council for Fatwa and Research, adds: “A Muslim is not permitted to work for any Jewish company within the Palestinian territories. Surely, those companies assist the occupation forces.
However, a Muslim is permitted to work for a Jewish company in any country outside Palestine as long as that Jewish company does not provide any form of support to the Zionists in Palestine.”
