The eminent Muslim scholar and renowned Da`iyah, Sheikh `Abdel Khaliq Hasan Ash-Shareef, states: “As long as you have worn the socks after you have performed wudu’, then you are permitted to wipe over the socks for one day and night if you are resident or for three days and nights if you are a traveler. However, if you became junub due to sexual intercourse or having a wet dream, etc. then you cannot wipe on the socks and you have to make ghusl (purificatory bath.)
