First of all, we would like to stress the fact that lipstick whether light or strong like any other beauty products, should not be used by a Muslim woman in public; that is, she can only use it for the sake of her husband, or in the presence of other women, and of Mahrams (the men she can never marry like her brother, father, uncle, etc.).
The eminent Muslim scholar and renowned Da`iyah, Sheikh `Abdel Khaliq Hasan Ash-Shareef, states: “All such products are from the adornment which is prohibited for a woman to wear in public. While going outdoors, a woman should not wear any makeup or adornment. She may do so indoors for her husband, or in the presence of other women, and of Mahrams.”
