Predestination or qadar refers to the foreknowledge of Allah and His keeping count of all things and registering them before they happen.
It is an established principle in Islam that everything in this universe is predestined and registered with Almighty Allah. This includes our daily routine. However, it should be clear that Allah willed that we shall be of free will, and it is He who allows us to use our will. So, we are granted free will to use in order to choose to believe or disbelieve Allah’s message. This does not contradict Allah’s foreknowledge of our actions for all things.
So, this foreknowledge of Almighty Allah and His keeping count of all things and registering them before they happen do not contradict working hard and making use of the available means. Also, it does not contradict man’s free will.
