Sheikh `Abdul-Majeed Subh, a prominent Azharite scholar, states: “If someone who has memorised Qur’an says that with the aim of talking about Allah’s favourites on them or for encouraging others to memorize the Qur’an, this is good and is not considered riyaa’. Riyaa’ is to tell people about that to be praised by people.”
