usury

Respected scholars, as-salamu `alaykum. Why is interest prohibited? It would have made life so much easier. Jazakum Allahu Khayran.

As-Salamu `alaykum. Is it allowed to take a loan from a bank to buy a business? That's the only way to start a business here in the United States. If I want to take a loan on a business, let's say 900 thousands and I'll have to pay that in 15 years with the interest after the 15 years the total I'll have to pay is, let's say 980 thousands.Now the question is: If I took this loan and pay it back in the 15 years on time, would that be the same as if someone bought the business for 900 thousands and said to me I'll sell it to you for 980 thousands and you can pay me that in 15 years?

As-salamu `alaykum. My question is on usury.Allah has said in the Qur'an that usury is totally haram, and that anyone who defies this is in direct defiance to Allah. I have read and heard many scholars advising people to give away interest money earned in conventional banks to charities and the like without any intention of reward.Is that not already defying Allah?also, if interest is haram to consume, how can one give his or her poison to someone else?I have also read an article in which a scholar argues that if the interest money is left with the banks, it will strengthen the banks. Does Almighty Allah need your help to take that money to another place? Is that not defying Allah? Should it not just be left alone for Allah to decide the future of it or the financial institution? As-Salaamu `alaykum. Is it permissible to work in a non-Islamic bank in the technology support department? I am living in the U.S., and I am working in an interest-based bank. I would like to leave. Everything has become associated with Riba. Jazakum Allahu khayran.
