Salamualaikum, respected scholars. I know that the Shi'a Ja'afari school of fiqh have their own hadith collections, such as Nahj al-Balagha and Al-Kutub Al-Arb'ah. The Sunni schools have Bukhari, etc. The Shi'a have "evidence" condemning some of the sahaba as usurping the caliphate from Ali (radhiallahu 'anhu), attacking Fatimah (ra), and practicing nepotism by helping their kinsmen attain powerful political positions. Yet the Sunni hadith collections have evidence praising some of the same sahaba. I know there is only one correct view that Allah knows. Yet each side says their evidence is the truth and the other side's evidence is fabricated. How can I objectively know which to believe?

Asalaam o aliakum Why is my family so mean? Some of my brothers, all my uncles, aunts, cousins, and sister in-laws are always trying to put me down or find some ways to get me hurt.  They accuse me of things I haven?t done or said.  They teach their children not to respect me.    My sister in-laws believe in black magic and they try to hurt me through that. Out side the house, everyone loves me and adores me for what and how I am.  As for as I remember, I never hurt anyone except helped as much as I could.  I pray most of the time, I give my charity, and I am thankful to Allah for everyday and everything than why am I treated so badly in my family.they emotionally hurt me all the time.   Am I cursed?  However, when they need money, the first door they knock is mine.

Dear scholars, As-Salamu `alaykum. We often hear of some people’s ingratitude to their parents. My parents are elderly. I would like to know what my duties are to them, according to Islam. Jazakum Allah khayran.
