Photographs

As-Salamu `Alaykum. We run an Islamic Internet Web Site. The question is: Is it permissible, while talking about Christians, to publish the photos of the Pope wearing the Cross? Is it also permissible to publish photos of women who are not Islamically dressed?

As-Salamu `alaykum. If I scan photographs into the computer and then apply certain filters to them to make them look like water color pictures, would this be considered haram (unlawful)?

Is photography allowed in Islam? Bearing in mind that it is not the same as painting or recreating a being, it's rather a capture of image through light and lens.
