Respected scholars, As-salamu `alaykum. Al-hamdu lillah, my 8- and 6-year-old sons both know how to offer their Prayers. As a boost of encouragement and responsibility, I will sometimes ask them to lead family Prayers (which they do well and enjoy). It is permissible for myself and my spouse to pray behind a minor? Jazakum Allahu khayran.

Can a person lead Jama`h Salah if he is not able to read the Qur’an properly?

As-salamu `alaykum,  respected scholars. Is it lawful for the committee of a masjid to appoint an imam who is living in the country illegally and who had made a false passport and visa, whereas it is possible to find an imam who abides by the law? What is the ruling of praying behind this kind of imam? Jazakum Allahu khayran.

asalam o alikum..there is a mosque in our locality which is well integrated inside a mazaar(tomb)of a sufi saint.. people often hinder me from offering prayers in this mosuq citing the invalidity of praying behing these peo ple..the following are the traits and characteristics found in the inhabitants and prayer leaders dwelling in that mosque.. 1.they belong to the barailwiyaaah sect 2.place great reverence regarding that tomb .casting asperations that people should come and visit these tombs and pray to the deceased saint to ask Allah for intercession.. 3.on completion of every prayer..recite duroood aloud..which does break the concentration of other people.. 4.hold yearly URS(anniversary of that saint) 5.often encourage and lure people into supplicating directly to PROPHET MUHAMMAD PBUH for worldy and hereafter gains...6.strongly believe that Prophet MUHAMMAD PBUH is alive and "NAUZUBILLAH" happens to be present everywhere.. 7.regular naaat khuwaaani..after taking all the above mentioned creeds into account..is it permissible to pray in that mosque behind their imam?..however we do have another mosque in our locality which is found free of all these norms ....but what if we are confronted with an emergency or no other choice than to perform in that mazaar masjid..thank you..asalam o alikum

is it permitted for a sister to lead the jummat in prayer when in an all female congregation?

What do we do when we know that someone who is leading salah is in the habit of watching pornographic movies and looking at nude women, etc? Are we allowed to pray behind such a person who commits such grave sins?

As-Salamu `alaykum. As Imams stay in mosques and are paid money for leading prayers, can they take money in return?

Dear scholars, As-Salamu `alaykum. Is the Khatib delivering the sermon on Friday recommended to wear any special kind of clothing? For instance, is he recommended to cover his hair? I have seen some Khatibs wear a long coat like a Lab Coat, or others wear an `Abayah or the like, over their usual clothes. Is this an added sunnah or mustahabb (recommended)? Is it permissible in America for the Khatib to simply wear a suit, tie, trousers, etc. considering it is the dress (`Urf) of the people? Please advise. Obviously if there is a recommended sunnah then that has priority over `Urf (custom). Jazakum Allah khayran.

As-Salamu `alaykum. Recently the issue of women leading men in Prayer in the mosque has raised a great controversy over the role of women in Islam. Are women too inferior to lead men in public Prayer?

Due to limited space inside the mosque, some people may pray behind the closed doors of the mosque and others may pray upstairs. Those people follow the Imam through loudspeakers. Is their prayer valid even though they are outside the mosque or upstairs while the Imam is in the main hall of the mosque?

Can a Mosque imam obtain a salary for leading people in Prayer? Is the salary he obtains a halal one?

When two men are praying in jama`ah and another man wants to join the prayer, should the second Muslim step back to join the brother who arrived late or should he carry on standing next to the imam?
