Respected scholars, I?m a married Muslim lady and do not have any children. Does my husband have a ?right? in deciding if the time is right for me to pursue my education? Please give me an exact answer; does Allah give the husband the right of deciding about his wife?s education or work? Does his right of ?obedience? extend into my study and work and whether im ready to drive a car or not?  Please help me, as I can?t believe that Allah could be unfair to women. Is the issue of ?obedience? only concerning family issues or also about the wives issues that include when she can go out or what she can wear??thank you very much and appreciate your help.

Asallam o alikum,    My family is not allwoing me to go to college because they think Islam doesn't allow that. When told about the hadith which says that knowledge is obligatory upon every male and female muslim, they told me that this hadith talks about Islamic knowledge and not about biology and chemistry of today.Is it true?Please kindly shed some light on it.Thank you.

Dear scholars, As-Salamu `alaykum! In the light of the ongoing Western scheme to interfere in Islamic education, as they lay pressure on Muslim governments to change the curricula in Muslim countries, I think this relates to their ignorance of the real purpose of education in Islam. So dear scholars, I think it’s time you shed light on this issue: the real purpose of education from an Islamic perspective. Jazakum Allah khayran.

As-salamu ‘alaykum... I have a son aged 9 years of age. He is now in class 3 and he has a problem in learning at school. Since he started his schooling I have been on my toes, working very hard with him at home. Finally, I believe he has picked up in his studies because when I sit down with him at home, I find him to be very OK., but I always get complaints in school and madressa that he is very slow in understanding. He is actually used to getting one-to-one attention from me, and he cannot cope with learning in a class. I thought of letting him repeat class 2 because may be he lacks self confidence. or what could be the problem with him? He is very good in math and computers; please advise.

As a home-schooling mother, I am wondering what his brilliant teaching methods were. Because wonderful people like Abu Bakr and `Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) were all his students.
