With the death toll rising in quake-stricken areas, what should Muslims do regarding washing and shrouding the dead, as well as praying the funeral prayer over the victims? What should Muslims do if they find it difficult to distinguish between the bodies of men and women? Is it possible that men and women be gathered in a mass grave and buried together?

As-Salamu `alaykum. From time to time, we hear about earthquakes and other disasters that hit Muslim or non-Muslim peoples. Then, what is the role of the Muslim governments towards helping disaster victims?
